Street Brawl Poem by David Oladipupo Olorunshola

Street Brawl

It was just like
A shouting match before;
Verbal vituperation,
The conductor and passenger,
In a war of words,
Over the bus fare.
Then the pointing of fingers
The abuse and insults,
Thrown at each other.
The passenger became
Infuriated; landed a slap
Squarely on the face
Of the conductor.

He went haywire
The conductor lifted
The passenger like
A trained wrestler;
Hitting him hard on
The floor.

The man stretched at once
Then, lay flat; unmoving
And then the stampede,
Of the spectators.
