Strange Are The Ways Of Love Poem by PADMINI DUTTA SHARMA

Strange Are The Ways Of Love

The pervading stillness has an intriguing sound
Perilously playinghavoc in our minds
As we try to unleash our wrath for that unfaithful lover
That cheated on us umpteen times
Or fancy unrequited overtures from our side
Hoping without hope that perhaps someday, will be that day
Or when the unicorn wages a war by intruding onto our lover's arms
Cuddling them at areas not to strangers known
How it all gets jumbled when he smiles turning his face the other side
Rendering us idiotically naive
And trust me, persuasion makes it worse, with his indifference cutting us deep inside
Until we shriek in pain at our disjointed thoughts
And start heckling the shadows that befriended us one time...

This woman thought her lover had a lover and he thought likewise
Enrage wrapped in their veins they
decide to wipe out the other from their lives
Hatching full proof plans they smile the winner's smile
Freezing on murder as the best device
The man decides to strangle her with her long manes while they made love like Porphyria's lover
And the woman decides to play Dalila after the last ride
But Eureka they cry suddenly
Their eyes gleaming like demons
When they see the Corona encircling like dust balls from all sides!
