Stranded Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Stranded

Energy is exhausted after drifting for miles
Signs of failing thicken, a struggle has begun
The breath of time has been altered…a cloud
of ominous gray has extinguished the sun

A wind is blowing across the path ahead
as a blur of unspeakable words tumble
across consciousness… scattering phrases
of a prayer… shaken by a thunderous rumble

A stubborn strength of endurance is found
from somewhere beneath cold rippling waves
Surfacing and treading… seeking direction
Reaching out to an extended hand that saves
