Storm Poem by Reanna Thornton

Storm

My life has been such a storm

And then you came along to calm the waters.

You came like a calming wind against a hurricane of rage

And provided a shelter of peace and comfort.

I felt like I was drowning in the raging sea

But you pulled me from the water like an angel of mercy.

I have lived on the outside just out of reach of human emotions

But you pulled me in and showed me that I am wanted.

You have showed me love and caring and that I am not a puppet

A being with not emotions, no feelings and taught me to be human again.

You have been there through the churning waters of the past

And have choosen to still be there when I needed strength.

You have pushed the black clouds away and shown me the blue sky again.

You have shown me the golden sun in the mist of thundering winds.

You have showed me that the fantasy of love is true

And not an illusion and I thank you for that

You have accepted some of the scars I have shown you

And have not thrown me away because of them.

You have listened to my sorrow and given compassion

When no one else cared and I love you for that.

I have walked the lonely road for many years on end

And it has led me to you caring, peace, compassion, and love.

I would face the storm again if I knew it would all lead to you

That you would be the one waiting to calm theraging winds,

That your love waited for me at the end of the winding road.
