Stories The Dead Would Tell Us Poem by Qiniso Mogale

Stories The Dead Would Tell Us

The dead have many stories to tell
The dead have ample advice to give
The dead have many warnings to give
The dead want to share unknown knowledge
The dead want to share wisdom
But they are dead so they can't talk to those
who still live
The stories the dead would tell us.

The dead would tell us it is foolish
to be proud
The dead would tell us to respect time
because life is short
The dead would tell us there is no repentance
beyond the grave
The dead would tell us to leave a good
legacy for our children and grandchildren
The stories the dead would tell us.

Those in heaven would tell those in Christ
to hold on until the end
Those in hell would tell those who have
rejected Christ to accept Him
They would tell them that they don't want
to go to that place of untold misery
They would tell them nothing is worth going
to hell for; not even money and fame
The stories the dead would tell us.
