Stolen Moments Poem by Sarah Barron

Stolen Moments

Acquaintances they were...Friends they became …Lovers they are …

How simply it all began ….with his intriguing question to her….

“I have a secret, would you like to know what it is? ” Yes, I would she replied. He said I’ve been infatuated with you for a very long time. I saw you during Halloween one year boarding a barge with your 2 children they were about 5 & 7 years old. She was astonished and extremely flattered at the accuracy of his recollection.

During her lifetime no man had ever confessed such feelings towards her and for nearly a decade he’s felt this way. And all throughout she’d innocently smiled and said hello not knowing his heart was so untamed.

She herself had tightly guarded her heart but, it began to rebel against her wishes breaking away from the tight hold she’d placed on it. She’d lost control of it and gave into all its desires. How could this be? When she is with him all her emotions & reactions catch her off guard. She is overwhelmed with passion and desire by his very touch, glance or sound of his voice. She is learning to feel, see and do things she could only dream about. This is too good to be true… it must a dream, it can only be a dream. But, when he tell’s her it’s not a dream and how wonderful it is to hold, kiss and make love to her, she finds herself yearning for him even more.

She endlessly waits for a stolen moment with her unselfish lover. He is tall and handsome with a beautiful smile and when he nears her, she is consumed with the very essence that his him. To hold him tightly she has no option but to melt in his arms and surrender her self sweetly to his every desire.

When they are together a moment has never been lost. She longs to share Sunday mornings with him without having to steal them.
