Stay, Please. Poem by Maddy Adams

Stay, Please.

'Stay with me, ' she cried, holding his hand.
He turned away,
so he could not see her face.
'Let me go, ' he said taking his hand from hers.
'Please, ' she whispered, tears running down her face. 'Don't leave me.'
He sighed with remorse. He hoped it hadn't come to this.
'I don't love you anymore.' He turned to face her as he said these words.
Her face... It was destroyed in those five simple words.
He left her, destroyed on the ground, behind him.
He didn't hear her whisper as he left.
'But I still love you.'
