Starting A New Page In My Life Poem by Helene Sawyer

Starting A New Page In My Life

Watching as all the flames die in the fire
Seeing all the pages from the past burning away
Smiling as my new life is opening in full
You should of thought before letting me go
But as of now,
I am glad you did
All those hurtful nights,
Those hurtful dates
You never showed for one
Watching as the stars dance across the sky
Just knowing that I am much better along without you
Smiling
A little less crying myself to sleep
The tears are burned away from the pervious flames in my eyes
Seeing you with another in your room
Just knowing that you meant to break my heart
On accident? Or just on purpose? Or was it just a game to you?
Watching as the flowers turn to full colors
Everything doesn't remind me of you
Seeing new faces
New smiles
Odd places just become clearer to me now
Old faces, old places are just a place in the past
As the days go on, I live with pain, suffering, heartach
But not from you, from my own self,
Seeing the relfection of the moon on the lake
Everything becomes clearer
My mind, body, and soul.
