Starstruck Poem by John Hayes

Starstruck

Through swathes of light
We are bound
Transfixed moths
Of the night
Here now to hail
He who is here
Only to play
Without fail
Screams ring out
Crashing crescendos
Of his name
There’s no doubt
A smile emerges
Sublime approval
From the one
Who crouches
A symphony
Crawls abound
Hugging every skin
In harmony
We came to pay
Homage as one
It’s over
Stop rewind play
