Starstruck Poem by Georgia Leana Benedictos

Starstruck

I had a reverie. I was starstrucked.
I was walking with someone I do not know.
I suddenly remembered my mom.

She said do no not talk to strangers.
I tried to let go of that person,
yet, he does not want to give my hand back.

Suddenly, we were inside a church.
We sat on an empty space.
I uttered a prayer to God.

I said, “I do not think that he’s an immoral person. I also think that I know him.”
God said, “Follow what’s inside your heart, child. It will lead you to your destiny.

Again, we started walking.
I do not know where he will lead me but once again,
I remembered what my mother said but God popped into my mind again.

I feel His presence around me.
I feel safe and sheltered.
We walked the long way. Not knowing where this road will take us.

I asked the guy who was holding my hand, “Do you know where we are going? ”
For the first time, I heard his voice. He really sounded familiar. Maybe, an important man in my life.

“Yes. Of course. I carefully sought every step that will lead to our worthwhile destination.”
Suddenly, I remembered Him already.

I felt happy and contented.
I followed what God said to me.
I was with JESUS.
