Stalin's 1st Genocide Poem by Stephen Devane

Stalin's 1st Genocide

Rating: 4.8

He took our grain and our seeds
He took the food our family needs
We ate our dog, and our cat
Today we ate, soup of rat
Birds don’t sing and dogs don’t bark
Last night my son, lost his spark
He lies dead, at our feet
My daughter asks, 'Can we can eat? '
I tell her “yes.” As I cry
I can’t look, as she bites his thigh
Our neighbors left and right are dead
We are starved by the Red
Russia and the world, deny
They claim that, we all lie
You want proof, of what Stalin did
Get your shovels, and dig.

The Holodomor was when the communists were implementing collectivist farms. If you have any interest I urge you to look it up, it's a lesser known genocide.

Joseph Stalin 'the Beast' as he was commonly known before and during the Second World War, committed much atrocities in his pragmatic bid to win The Battle of Stalingrad against the Germans. A tyrant with blood of millions of his people in his hands. A well articulated poem, insightfully penned with conviction. I like the rhyme scheme of the poem. Thanks for sharing. Yes, there have been many atrocities in history. But historians pervert the truth. Wonderful piece, Stephen
