Stained Life Poem by Nelson Mugisha Mulera

Stained Life

Alone I lay,
Watching every star in the sky,
Counting every blessing as I cry,
Saying Lord thank you for my life.

Memories flash through my mind,
Of a life well aligned,
But the stain on my eye,
Leaves me so great in doubt.

The pain that I mine,
Out of life’s moments with which dine,
Leave me craving for the time,
I had an innocent mind.

My mind has been drained,
My heart stained,
What do I have to hold?
To take me to through this storm.

I hold onto hope
My only piece of rope
To take me through these times
All the days of my life.
