Ss Poem by nobody special

Ss

samantha smith
that's a name i won't soon forget
that's the name that opened my eyes
to the way you lie
and things you try to hide
you went straight from your seminar to class
where first thing you emailed, not your wife but this lass
'just wanted to tell you how nice it was to meet you' and told her how glad you were that the class was so small
you were so glad about it that you didn't tell me about her at all
'hope to see you again'
that's what you told her at the end
something about her obviously caught your attention
something that, to me, warranted no mention
you said nothing happened but who can i believe?
the person i thought i was with or the one that lies to me?
when you lied you took away the trust i had in you
now you've made me wonder if you've lied about other things too
and can i ever again take what you say as the truth....
