Spreading The Pollen Of Peace - Emka Emmanuel Katto Poem by Emmanuel Katto

Spreading The Pollen Of Peace - Emka Emmanuel Katto

Sweet balcony boxwoods stand tall, dressed for a party,
exploding in feathery blooms, a bajillion stamens
loosing pollen to ride a rough morning wind
to the farthest end of our valley. More
of them stand downwind,
waiting.

Water harvested from last night's rain bursts from the ditch,
leaps down, whipping to froth the river's run to the sea,
its white sparkle lights gently on my gaze
to tickle the memory of tide and surf,
waiting for the full.

Fully spread cerise roses and creamy pink lilies lean toward me
from their vase, their alluring scent carrying me to ecstasy
and beyond as they reach their symphonic peak
each detail stored in my synapses, filling me
with peace.

Blue sky emerging from fluffy clouds adds its jubilant notes until
I'm overflowing as I ask heaven,
how shall I share my life's
magnificent gifts?
