Spirit Of The Dead Mouse Poem by Samuel James Moore

Spirit Of The Dead Mouse

Once I had a body
which I used to feed.
But now the ants have taken me,
and fed me to their queen.

Curse my old, stubby snout
which led me astray.
Delicious morsels it would out,
and lead me on my raids.

Lady, forgiveness please
which I don’t deserve.
I took your chocolate disease,
and I’m dead forever.
