Special Two Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Special Two

The road of my dreams is lined with trees
And is known by a royal name:
'Queen Alexandra SR2'
The residents' pride and claim to fame.

Attractive houses all painted white
Windows glimmer from morn until night
Diamond-leaded sparkles liked wine
And all praise is due to buddies of mine.

Window cleaners, skilled and sincere
Have worked so well, each passing year
Up the ladder ~ then down again
In summer sunshine and autumn rain.

But when the weather is windy and wild
And snowdrifts lie on the ground in piles,
No window cleaners knock on my door
Until brighter days come round to call.

Thanks must now go to these special two
For turning an old look into brand new,
And taking pleasure in the work they do
On Queen Alexandra SR2.
