Special Friend Poem by Chris Morley

Special Friend

It's far too early in the morning
For God to call your name,
But I will draw some comfort
For I know we'll meet again.

Now it's time for you to go,
Your final flight can't be delayed,
The cabin staff are angels
So please don't be afraid.

Even though my heart is breaking
I will try not to cry,
My memories of you are precious
But it's time to say goodbye.

So I say so-long my special friend,
You were too young to depart,
Rest in peace my special friend,
Your candle burns forever in my heart.
