God is the light in the darkness
And His love reveals the method to the madness
They tried to defile my name
But His spirit in me kept me tamed

For so long we were the victims of sin
But in South Africa we have risen above the bin
The mother land for many is still so far
But in the world she stands out as the star

It’s humbling to inhabit where it was, the beginning of life
As it reminds me of the first time I saw my wife
Such splendour, the untroubled beauty
And above all God’s flamboyant majesty

God has blessed this land with abundance
As he loves us in spite of our defiance
I have not experienced any place like this
So I confess that South Africa is so far the best
