Soul Sanctuary
I’ve given you my all
What I couldn’t afford to give
The essence of my soul
Liquidated for your leisure
Poured out into the shallow party cup that is you
Disposable
As in the party favors on New Year’s Eve
You galloped through the garden
That was my sanctuary
The fertile earth left trodden
Gouged
And arid
Now with time
Nurtured
And nourished
By way of your absence
But what shall become of our seed
