Soul Sacrifice Poem by Adam M Snow

Soul Sacrifice

Soul Sacrifice
By: Adam M. Snow

I speak from a stolen breath,
Echo of it lost, on sighs.
With night going yonder,
My cries filled stagnant air,
As tears fall on tainted ground.
My wakeful soul knows no bound,
But though I live this life of bane,
I can't, O' I cannot explain,
Still I speak from muted tongue,
Only I could hear my call.
I live because I must, I feel it just,
Sacrifice even dignity to survive,
But though I give, I give not to me,
I remain the shadow of worlds to see.
A ghost of past shadowing future,
But what I hold dear, I cannot grasp.
I reach for what I cannot get,
But to live on knowing I'm exiled,
I'll forever live on, constantly dreaming.
