Sorry Poem by dianne anderson

Sorry

Rating: 5.0

Sorry is an empty word that never can repair
The hurt that's caused to someone for the pain they have to bear
Even spoken from the soul deep within the heart
It changes nothing that's been said or put things back to start

The hurt that's said or done no word can put it right
A single word won't turn their darkness into light
Surely it is better to think before we speak
Not inflict the pain or to have a hurtful streak

Then that empty sorry word need's never to be said
A word we always hear and the word we always dread
Politeness overcomes us and we say that it's alright
But truthfully the hurt's still there but hold it in so tight

Don't want to seem ungrateful for this empty gesture made
After all it makes it right this sorry word once paid
But you and l know different and things stay just the same
It's just a word no more than that and it's never healed a pain.
