Sorrow Poem by Justin Reinalda

Sorrow

Sorrow is an ocean

In the silence waves hit

I see flashes of light

But not enough to stay lit

Happy strikes like lightning

But thunder follows soon

Clouds hide the light

I cannot see the moon

The tide is high

And it sweeps me under

I look up and see

Lightning before the thunder

I am treading water

But the current is so strong

If I take a break

I fear I won't last very long

It's dark and I'm lost

Which way to the shore?

I just don't know

If I can tread anymore

It's so cold and heavy

It's dark all around

Maybe if I last 'til morning

I will be found

Sorrow
