Sonnet- Opposites Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet- Opposites

Rating: 5.0

Between love, hate, it is an episode;
'Tween inebriety or not, 'Tis some gin;
'Tween obedience or not, 'tis the code;
Between Heav'n and hell, a mortal sin.

Between the thought and act, 'tis a trifle;
'Tween the kind and unkind word, a tongue's slip;
Between restraint, a trigger's pull of Rifle;
Between a brave act or cowardice, a whip.

Between great help or neglect, a moment;
Bewteen a friend or foe, an incident;
Between surgery or not, incision;
Between success or failure, decision.

Our earthly-stay is for a single time,
We’re free to ruin our soul or make sublime.
