Sonnet: On Blood-Donation To Save Lives Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: On Blood-Donation To Save Lives

‘Than water, thicker blood is, ’ people say;
Relatives scarcely help in times of need;
We know that blood turns thinner every day;
Friends help more than our kith and kin indeed!

You may donate blood many times a year;
How many opt to save lives in this way?
Blood goes down drains unused and has turned dear;
Blood’s components are useful, come what may!

The blood of martyrs instils faith in God;
Donating blood is noble act for all;
Innocent blood spilled cries for revenge, rod!
Make foes your friends through giving blood in fall!

Life’s river – blood cannot be easily made;
Blood-price, the Son of God gave, cannot fade!
