Sonnet: Let Human Love Be Pure Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Let Human Love Be Pure

Let human love be truly from one’s heart!
Let human love be not admixed by lust;
Let human love be ‘one spousal’ from start;
Let human love be pure like diamond- dust!

Watch out for lust can play havoc in life,
Becoming creepy all the more with time;
And bring to families ruin and strife,
Preventing one from making life sublime.

Who wants a rotten apple for breakfast?
Who wants fungated-food for supper/ lunch?
Who wants a cup of poison drink for thirst?
Who wants a bitter chewing gum to munch?

Just as we expect others to be pure,
We can’t afford to be in life impure.
