Sonnet: Just Be Yourself! Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Just Be Yourself!

Each flower need not try to be a rose,
For this is not a possibility;
Each garden flower or in wild, God chose
To serve His purpose for divinity.

Just being oneself is enough on earth,
For vying with the others is a waste;
God gave each one a beauty right from birth,
Each nose for smell, and taste-bud for a taste!

Why try to ape the next when you cannot?
Just emulate the good of ones around;
One cannot be the next however smart!
This is the dictum of this God-made world.

The fool wastes time and energy futile
To act and do like others, laugh and smile!
