Sonnet: I Am Thine Lucky Pot! Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: I Am Thine Lucky Pot!

Why did You make me specially O Lord?
I feel You've made me uniquely from clay!
Why did You create me by special word?
Why am I born on a lucky birthday?

Why did You choose me thus from many souls?
I know I’m worthy not of Thine kindness;
Why did You give me so many good roles?
The talents You gave me are in excess.

May I then understand Thine will and toil!
May I then serve Thee as You want me to;
May I my temptations with success foil!
Help me to keep Thine commands and things do.

O Master of the universe so fine!
Let me in wine-skin new be, newer wine!
