Sonnet: “i Am The Lord, Thy God! ” Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: “i Am The Lord, Thy God! ”

Rating: 4.0

The Lord has saved my life from death so oft;
How do I thank Him for His kindness great?
He helps in time although my call is soft;
He cared for me so lovingly till date.

He’ as drawn me in the palm of His own hand!
A thousand years is just a day to God;
To righteous souls, He shows His promised land;
To evil ones, He gives His just, stern rod.

How could the universe evolve from naught?
How could life come from lifeless forms sans God?
How could one say ’tis written fate or lot?
Can earthlings ever breathe life into clod?

Can chaos lead to harmony on own?
All things are possible to God alone.

thanks Maria and well-said! 'Tis tough writing divine sonnets endlessly. That's my special problem. Regards, Dr John Celes
