Sonnet: Gratitude To God Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Gratitude To God

I thank you God for saving me from death,
By accidents, diseases of all kinds,
Even before I got my lovely birth:
Through love divine, infinite, my life winds.

How can I show my gratitude to You,
For giving me my precious life, freely?
For miracles galore, You seem to do,
Can I repay You any day, surely?

O Master of the universe, so vast!
‘You are my Father; I am just Your child! ’
O let me serve You well till my breath last;
Forgive my sins, O Lamb of God, meek, mild.

Protect my soul with grace and You embrace;
Let me never give up my heavenly gaze!
