Sonnet For Empowered Humanity Poem by Danny Draper

Sonnet For Empowered Humanity

Rating: 5.0

Some believe in the power of the Sun
Benign amongst the cosmos for so long,
Others believe in what we have begun
Unfurling fractals ever growing strong.
Some maintain we are never quite alone
Investing great resource along that way,
A comfort sought from promises they own
Eternity, or life lived full each day.
Should we proceed with faith in who we are
Or cower 'neath the awe of darkness passed?
Can we trust ourselves to range afar, or
Will self loathing condemn us to the past?
Rise up and grow wise empowered hands, and
Together we'll explore all promised lands.
