Sonnet: Eve’s First Mother’s Day Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Eve’s First Mother’s Day

Rating: 5.0

If not for Eve, then Adam lived in solitude!
God knew this was not good for him at all, poor man;
Out of man’s rib, God created his mate Eve nude;
She was his companion and named her as ‘woman.’

An ideal partner Eve for Adam, turned to be;
Attracted by the serpent’s offered fruit, Eve ate;
She made her sleepy partner taste it quite promptly;
Their disobedience to God’s order changed their fate.

But motherhood to Eve was important and best;
It was better than womanhood despite the strife;
God formed her for the job with added zeal and zest;
To compensate, she was more patient throughout life.

And Eve was mother to the human race in prime;
From birth of Cain, Eve did this duty as full-time!

Good poem. I have it on good authority though that Eve came in Victoria's Secret.
