Sonnet 12 Poem by Matt Baines

Sonnet 12

Love, where can it be found? In our answers?
For such a beauty, it must be the cure
Then how can we make it feel like cancer?
Is it by thinking it has to be pure?

No, even my love does not hide nor care
That to love you is to love everyone
And not to keep from the world, but to share
What seems like magic is life now begun

My love cannot be compared to one thing
What I want to be mine I cannot hide
That my love exist in every being
And love is you and you I won't confide

My love is not a fish that must be caught
Freer than the sea, my love can't be bought.
