Songbird Poem by Jeanne Trew

Songbird

Every time you hear the sound of a singing bird, know I'm there with an encouraging word;

To lift your thoughts and lighten your load, to help you find your way, along life's curvy road.

Wherever you are in this earthly existence, know I'm with you thru all resistance.

You are my child, you are the child of my child, you are the future, my legacy...
and I am now... a song.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Now in my 60's, I realize all that matters in life, is my children and grandchildren, etc. I hope and pray they have been instilled with the qualities I admire, and have tried to emulate (although not well, at times) . And that they will teach their children, and so on, to continue the path of love and kindness, started by my mother and her mother, etc. I'm so fortunate my daughters had my mother's fortitude, else they may not have faired as well as they did, given my youthful ignorance and plundering. Thank God, they have made more intelligent choices!
