Song Of The River Poem by Ima Ryma

Song Of The River

This 'Ol' Man River' goes the song
About the Mississippi - me,
And how I keep rolling along,
Be I 'Man' or 'Miss' - he or she.
This river's heard so many songs
Sung by humans hoping to find
His and her rights among the wrongs,
Ever a quest of humankind.
But humans seem to fight a lot.
They are both dumb and smart enough.
It's a close call whether or not
They'll go extinct doing bad stuff.

I'm sung about with heart and soul.
If the songs cease, I still will roll.
