Song Of Solomon I (Chapter 1: 1-17 Re-Written And Done Into Verse And Metric Form)

Rating: 5.0

The song of songs for Solomon to own
Let him plant the kiss's from his mouth on me
Your love sweet'r than wine, your savor is known
T' be good ointment as your name is to be;
Like ointment pour'd forth, you the virgins love;
Draw me; for you, we'll be running off.

The king has brought me in his chambers thus:
We'll be glad in you and make merriment
Your love'll be r'member'd more than wine by us,
The upright love you! Out from kedars' tent'
I am black, come Jerusalem daughters,
I'm black look not 'pon me there's no alters.
Because mother's children for me felt rot,
Made me vineyards keep'r, but mine I kept not.

Tell me you whom my soul loves, where you feed,
Where you make your flock to rest at noon time;
Why should I be as one turns aside indeed
By the flocks of your companion sublime?
You know n't, you fair'st 'mong w'men by footstep 'f flock
And feed your kids beside the shepherd stock.

O my love, to pharoah's horses and ch'riots
I indeed truly have compar'd you too
Come, your cheeks are with rows of jewels sorts:
Bord'rs of gold with studs of silv'r we'll make you,
Your neck with chains in fine bondage of gold
While the king sits at his furniture fold-

My spikenard sends forth diffusion of smell
A bundle of myrrh to me in belov'd
He shall lie all night between my breasts well,
A cluster of camphor as whom I lov'd,
In the vineyard of En-gedi, behold!
In the vineyard of En-gedi, of old!

You are fair, behold, you are fair my love
B'hold, my belov'd pleasant from toes to hair
With such avian eyes like those of a dove
Behold, yes behold her; she is so fair;
Furthermore, our bed is colour'd in green,
Our house beams are c'dars, raft'rs of fir they've been.
