Song Of A Bird Poem by Rajendra padhi

Song Of A Bird

I weep in a prison in quietness
A bird in elusive dreams,
Abandoned songs for adoration
An unreal world around me,
Chained in a room of thoughts
Failed to commune my real self
Locked up for a blind fate.

A cage fashioned as a home
Pearl of words of love so dark,
Sound sad behind the bars
Hunted by the life in boughs
Sweet memories contribute tears.

I weep for the mountain of spring
A lurking fountain in sunny days,
Lonely I dream wounded in pain
Widowed of joy in drooping wings,
A desert with winter at night
The blazing summer at day,
Reflects a crying face in my mirror
I am the mirage ceasing never.

Dreaming I grow to fade
Songs wither from souls,
A lovely pet, a puppet of love
The cage finds another bird
When I am not there!
