Something So Oubvious Poem by Alicia Calloway

Something So Oubvious

wicked black jacket
you taught me the things I didn't want to learn
told me nothing i wanted to hear
gave me everything i never had
were my company when i was alone

a smooth, black leather jacket you are...

i wrapped myself in your being
in the cold mid-nights I'd watch the sun
when i sat around and waited for you to kiss me
morning after morning while i ate dinner
and every time i met you

wicked black jacket
you fell from the sky
and showed me the flames from which you were formed
now i keep you on my bed beneath my head
only taking you when we go out for a night

oh black leather jacket...
you keep me so warm, i think I'll keep you forever
