Something Not Realized Poem by Hunter Evett

Something Not Realized

I walked outside,
and sat in my dad's cab.
I looked at the stars,
and thought about what i didn't have.

...I could hear her pulling up,
to the place we always meet.
I didnt get nervous,
till she came down the street.

I opened her door,
to be a gentleman.
I didn't catch her attention,
when I leaned in for a kiss

I looked back at the stars,
and remembered what I forgot.
I had this beautiful girl,
that suddenly looked distraught.

We talked for hours,
about things that mattered less.
I looked into her eyes,
and told her not to confess.

We had this amazing thing,
you should not worry about.
We should be happy,
that we aren't left out.

We are two people,
in a very different way.
Not many understand us,
but we get it anyway.

You look back at me,
you understand what I'm saying.
You agree with everything,
knowing we are staying.

We both understand,
how the other feels.
We should never be like this,
for what we have is real.
