Someone Else's Face Poem by Jacqueline Louw

Someone Else's Face

Rating: 5.0

Here i am outside still me
but inside there is brewing a stormy sea

When someone ask 'how are you? '
i just put on someone else's face
with i smile id say 'im great thank you'
but instead wish i was in a far distant place

Thoughts in my head never seem to fade
of the consequences of my decisions made

Could've, would've, should've is words i hate
for someone like me hesitating on love and now its too late

I need to be strong
believe in fate
no longer putting on someone else's face
