Some People Poem by Daniel Isaac Gordon

Some People

Life goes on and time goes by,
Some people laugh, while others may cry,
Some people want a second dance,
While others wish they had a first chance,
Some people do little more than exist,
While others hold their own fate in their fist,
Some people live their whole life sitting down,
While others stand up for their shot at the crown,
Some people thrive on attention and glory,
While others may want just a word in the story,
Some people live their whole life on the edge,
While others may languish, unwilling to budge,
Some people fear they might ever be lonely,
While others will ne’er find their one and their only,
Some people wait for their God’s recompense
While others have splinters from sitting the fence,
Some people give up, while others still try,
As life goes on and time goes by.
