Soldiers Lost! Poem by Tom Zart

You never said I'm leaving, you never said goodbye.
You were gone before I knew it and only God knows why.

In life I loved you completely in death I love you still.
In my heart I hold a place that only you can fill.

God gives us passion to fortify our soul
to make us more loving is exactly His goal.

For the joys of goodness help keep life worthwhile
As forgiveness and servitude are put to the trial.

It broke my heart to lose you though I know you're not alone.
A part of me left with you on the day God called you home.
