Solace Poem by Rizwan Saleem

Solace

I die a thousand deaths every day
And regrets come rolling over me
Like waves crashing on jagged reefs
I mourn not the things lost to me
I grieve over my foolishness
Of how I could be so naïve
How people came and went their way
The rock that I am
I chose to stay
I grieve over my wishes
Lo! I'm the one left behind
Can't walk on water
The Nile won't part for me
Now I sit and beg this world to return
The pieces of what I used to be

Thanks for taking your valuable time to appreciate my poems. You are very kind. Your poem here touched me deeply... one couldn't but feel sorry about fate than ones foolishness. The decision making part. Lovely read. :)
