Soft, Slow And Easy Poem by chris schwartz

Soft, Slow And Easy

Rating: 5.0

She painted your picture
When she was just Eighteen
A handsome young rock star
Shining down on the little red
Who hid herself
Among the crowd
You were crying out to
One fan
Heard you loud and clear
Wasn't til much later in life
You finally heard her
Screams.

And here we are
Just falling short of the dream
We've both been waiting for.
The heat was too high
Burnt us fast, slow and easy
Away from the cries
Of damned reality.
Of a life that
Fell short
Of predictability
Uncertainty
But we took the risk
And damn,
Hon,
I'm so glad we did.

These days,
The bunnies run wild
And the Hills,
They don't act as if we hear them.
Your room and my room
When you're gone
The Light's still on
The only thing that heals me
Is your touch.
And the sound of you breathing.

And here we are,
Just falling short of a dream
We've been waiting for.
The heat was too high
Burnt us fast, slow and easy
Away from the cries
Of reality.

I sleep without you here
The rain is pouring down
And I remember, still
How hot it felt
When I was soaking wet
Outside in the parking lot
When the rain
Was pouring down.
