Soaring Higher Poem by PADMINI DUTTA SHARMA

Soaring Higher

©️Soaring higher

Scars and fear have subjugated freedom
With blood spilled at every nook & corner
As they walk, wait or sleep.
Distress and pain perilously turn the peaceful souls into rebels
That seek justice, revenge & war
Because nothing short of that would quench their thirst
Or bring back their serenity.

They have all lost enough
Lost everything that was dear & precious
Tears have frozen like barren lakes
Compelling them to take up shields and armors
As the only way to vindicate.

But they stop at a divine voice intervening from above
Drenching them in Light spread all across
Zooming in and out, back and forth
Pleading them to think once more before they take the final call
Joy, Love and Peace follow suit Appealing them to soar a little higher above the mundane myopic periphery of threat & distrust
That conceals the bigger picture!
