So What? Poem by Lonnie Hicks

So What?

Rating: 2.8

I am weak
forever seeking
satisfaction
in my Perfection's Cloth
unyielding

I forever seek
what ever Gods
I may conceive
Love, God, Money,
Status, or Position
but these are
only fleeting
and do not sate.

So what I ask is
Ultimate
and Satisfying?
Only this my friend:

The Object we pursue
is only that which Nature has decreed:
Growth, Knowledge Service to Others and the Humility
which gives us
Survival of the Species
and through these means;
Love and Nurture of the Children
because with these means, ends
and outcomes
we end
purposed gloriously
and that is all we really need.
