So Stuck Poem by Gilbert Hansford

So Stuck

Now that I know my way about
I have become so circumspect
I'm seized, preoccupied by doubt.
I can't speak, my life is wrecked.
And now the time has really come,
What made me wise, has struck me dumb.

I can't tell you what is worst
A reckless youth without a thought
Who acts without direction first
Or frozen sage so overwrought
So much obsessed with what is right
He meets his doom without a fight.
