So Long My Sandals Poem by michael mpofu

So Long My Sandals

Piqued I might be, so low I might become
Had fulfilled my globetrotting activities
Yes, I was with you today,
Was with you this evening,
Should have not abandoned you,
There was a better place to keep you safe
Maybe we would have been together now
An aid of mine you were,
When nature made the day unpleasant
An aid of mine you had become,
When I needed a bit of revelation
Like any other friend,
You`d been a disappointment at some point
Now, you are gone, I won`t cry
Now you are gone, I will not replace you
Now that you are gone
Am glad,
For different lessons I learn daily
Till then,
Save your unique purpose
  
