So Here I Am

“I cry for help, whimper a plea
Whisper within the squall
Sobbing on bended knee
Please hear me as I call

I’m lost dear God, so far from grace
So fearful to die
So anxiously I seek Your face
In Jesus’ name on high

I’ve read Your Word and understand
Christ Jesus died for me
That if I seek his guiding hand
He’ll set my spirit free

Your Word reveals I’m doomed to die
Through sin I’m tightly bound
Yet through The Blood of Christ on high
Salvation may be found

So here I am and hear I kneel
In faith I humbly pray
Upon my life Lord place Your Seal
And change my ways this day

Be now my Lord be now my King
My refuge and reward
Allow me too on eagle’s wing
Flee now Your vengeful sword

Be faithful as Your Word dictates
Remain Your Promise true
Lay wide dear God Salvation’s Gates
And let me safely through

I know I’m asking much of You
I know I’ve done much wrong
But through Your grace and birth anew
I too may sing life’s song”
