So Came The Winter (2014) Poem by Shade of Dawn

So Came The Winter (2014)

First flakes of snow,
Pour down from the sky,
In my memories,
Your love still remains.

Why oh why you left?
Disappeared like grass
In the winters wake,
And all there’s left,
This frost in my heart;
Created by your absence.

So came the winter to my soul,
Will there never be a spring,
Will this snow never melt?

In my heart you will always be,
Locked in the chest,
Chest of golden memories,
There you shall remain,
Until I'm reduced to dust.
