Smorgasbord Of Poems Poem by Doris Cornago

Smorgasbord Of Poems

Rating: 5.0

Searching but not finding
My heart aches for consolation
Putting myself at a distance
Seeing myself in a mirror

Please come, dine at my table
Of my own practical cooking
Where each dish is rendered
With care, not to scare but dare

Find what you like, have your fill
Share if you must, bring someone
Whose soul is looking for texture
Find some pleasure here

In my unsettled realm of words
Displaying jagged emotions
Juggled with some deep thoughts
A smorgasbord of poems

Smorgasbord Of Poems
POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Poems are meant to be digested for nourishment. But some won't come for fear of seeing themselves as in a mirror. The poet must find a way to make the experience pleasurable.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Doris Cornago 13 March 2022

I'm building this wall to contain what's within; in the effort of walking through the gate, you might have a sense of accomplishment. I nelieve thats the intention of a poet, to be exclusive but not to exclude, invite but not turn away anyone who wants to walk in.
